48 Weeks Prayers For Ghana

We at Ghanamindset have identified that Ghana is being held to ransome by our politicians and few interest groups and if we keep slumbering as we have done for the past 64 years we have been an indepentent nation our nation will fade away. You go back another 64years, into the time we were the Gold Coast, you appreciate that the current generation, despite all the advances in science and technology, we have gone backwards.

In 1893 that is counting backwards, the 64 years we were under the colonial rule of Imperialist Great Britain, you would appreciate that, despite the fact that our forebears lacked all the science and our current technological advances, they were able to stand up to defend our land at the peril of their lives. At that time, our colonialists had conqured all the Southern states of our land and they were busy confronting the Ashantis, to bring the Northern belt of our land as one unit to form a united Gold Coast for them to gain control without any intermediaries our Gold and our RICH forests. Remember, in 1900, just seven years, a Queenmother, called Yaa Asantewaa, without the weaponary of the colonial Britain, engaged them into war.

That generation, did not have any information technology but they had what we call, WISDOM, PATRIOTISM, dying to protect ones lands and the inhabitants settled on those lands. The history of all the tribal wars in the then Gold Coast, were all fought to protect and defend the land of those communities.

The question bothering us at the Ghanamindset is that, why have we allowed money to become the barometer to determine everything in Ghana? Where is our pride as Ghanaians? What has happened to our patriotism as sons and daughters of one mother called, Ghana? Why have we grown to hate Ghana so much that we don’t mind SELLING Ghana to anybody who wants to buy Ghana even if they are willing to give us peanuts, we would not mind. Even if they propose to buy Ghana and make all the inhabitants slaves, so far as the seller would be paid their peanuts, they will oblige.

We have run out of leaders. We no longer have men and women that can be trusted to protect and defend the territorail integrity of Ghana. There is weakness in our governments, the Executive arm of government, for the past four years, their fight against corruption is zero. The so called Martin Amidu, the supposedly angel in Ghana then failed woefully to be on top of corruption. Other government agencies, including the Attorney General’s department did not do much. The CHRAJ,the Commision on Human Rights and Administration of Justice was at its best playing petty and partisan politics throughout the past four years they have been under a new leader. EOCO, the Economic and Organised Crime Office has been sleeping and as for the THIRD arm of government, the Judiciary, the least said about them the better.

With our over politicised Police Service, holding the PROSECUTORIAL role of our national governance archtecture, what do we expect? We still have BLANTANTLY disregard for human life, such as the deaths of a sitting MP, JB Danquah, Ahmed Suale,a joiurnalist, Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh, MP, Quansah Hayford……and many others whose lives had been taken from them and in Ghana, and that is the end of the matter.

Ghana is becoming a country if care is not taken, going at the same trajectory, in the next 10 years, we shall be swept over by disorder, break down of law and order and rule of law would be at a premium. Why? Our country is calling for men and women who fear God. Ghana ia perhaps amongst the nations that have the highest number of Chiurch goers in Africa but we lack dedicated God fearing men and women. We have very limited supply of WISE MEN AND WOMEN in our public office. We are at a cross road and unless we change from our SELFISH and PARTISAN attitudes, we cannot develop. Our government is behaving like using a basket to fetch water, all the loopholes are there clearly and glaringly but who will MEND THEM?

At any point in time, God calls on a few individuals to stand up and be countered. Few individuals who are God fearng and partiotic can rise up and reach out to the over 30 million people of Ghana to mend their ways. How God will do it, is left to him but our availability is all that matters. Starting from the First of February,2021, I am embarking upon a 48 WEEKLY PRAYERS for Ghana. I am calling on all those who hate what is happening in Ghana to join me to pray for Ghana. Every Monday of the week, from 9am, it willl be on both Facebook and Youtube.

Ghana is calling on all the WISE sons and daughters to pray for Ghana. The “GYIMII” in Ghana is as high as mount Everset.

Started Ghanamindset in 2011 purposely to help our Ghanaian society have a better view of appreciating that mediocrity has never built and develop any nation. We have this layback attitude that we always think, when something is going wrong, " I am not responsible to fix it". There are many instances that we could have applied common sense to tackle a situation but our laissez-faire attitude would let us walk past unconcerned. Born and educated in Ghana in 1952 and currently living in the UK.
