Second Week Praying For Ghana. “We have SINNED against you Lord…….Jeremiah 14:20”

Last week prayer key points:

a. God telling the Israelites to repent of thier sins and call to him

b. He commands them to Humble themselves and pray to him

c. He promises that if they change from their sinfulful ways and call to him, he will hear them from heaven.

d. That he will do TWO important things for them: Heal their Land and Forgive their SINS.

Where are we today as Ghanaians? each day we wake up from bed we hear new stories that are not positive but nerve wrecking, fearful, debilitating, destructive as well as harmful. Some of them are so frightening that you wish they were not taking place in our Ghana. In Ghana today SIN has become the norm and when you begin to see that people are breaking the Law and nothing is done to stop them, then OUR whole society is on borrowed times. When ARMED robbers will grow so bold to attack Ambulances, then you question yourself, do we indeed have a government in Ghana. Though we may have a government but when the agencies that work to make laws and order to be maintained are not doing their jobs, what do you call that government?

Where we are today is no longer the dirty and blind politics of NPP and NDC, it is about Ghana and the cover over the people of Ghana. What covering do we have to withstand those ANTI GHANAIANS whose vocation is to obiterate us from our space.

We need to pray and at the same time act against all those who stand in our way to attain peace in Ghana. Our Prayer point this week is:

Jeremiah 14:20 “We have sinned against you,Lord we confess”

Background: Drought,Famine,Sword

The Bible says the whole nation of Israel as they have always done since they were rescued from Slavery by Moses, have once more abandoned God. They have resorted to other gods and they are indulging in all the KIND of things and behaviour Ghanaians are exhibiting now. Ghanaians are behaving like there is no law and order in Ghana so everybody does what they like. Just like the Israelites there has been a conglomeration of false prophets using God’s name to give false prophesies. In Ghana today, all the Atheist, the former jujumen and women, vodoo,”abosom”and what have you have all moved from the bushes, put on uniforms as men and women of God with one purpose, carrying out the agenda of Satan. This also happened to the Israelites and it is because of that the Lord God almighty has turned his face from them.

In Jeremiah 14:20, Jeremiah has called upon the Israelites to come together and pray. To pray, corporate prayers means that the entire society should show remorse and be sincere in approaching God that they admit their SIN.

Can the Ghanaian society be remorseful for all that we have done to the LAND from independence until today?

Can the People of Ghana repent from the SINS that have entangled us as a filthy garment that it has now become very difficult even to loosen it and free ourselves.

Can we accept that we have failed to heed the voice of the Lord by listening to false prophets and choosing the homes of jujumen and women as our homes?

We need to repent

Accept that we have been unfaithful to the Lord.

Jeremiah is standing with the whole society to plead with the Lord to change his mind. God has said because of their unbelief and unfaithfulness, he would not allow RAIN to fall any longer. The people have no rain, no water, no food and nothing is working for them.

My prayer is that Ghanaians should recognise who their God is. We have played lip service with God for a very long time. We are one country that LOVES idol worshipping but we would not accept and recognise it. We love PERSONALITIES more than we do God. We worship leaders of groupings in Ghana such as Pastors, Prophets,Political Party leaders and their representatives, the Rich in our society…Did we know they are what God calls IDOL worshipping? Anything a person LOVES more than God. It could even include your wife, husband,Siblings etc.

I pray God that we come off all these IDOL worshipping and we make him our TRUE LORD and Personal Saviour. We rededicate ourselves unto him. He has said he will hear from heaven and answer us. Amen.

Started Ghanamindset in 2011 purposely to help our Ghanaian society have a better view of appreciating that mediocrity has never built and develop any nation. We have this layback attitude that we always think, when something is going wrong, " I am not responsible to fix it". There are many instances that we could have applied common sense to tackle a situation but our laissez-faire attitude would let us walk past unconcerned. Born and educated in Ghana in 1952 and currently living in the UK.
